SpaceX is targeting a Tuesday afternoon launch of its Falcon 9 rocket carrying 29 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, with a launch window of 3:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. ET.
The mission marks a continuation of SpaceX’s aggressive Starlink deployment schedule in 2026. According to Space Coast Daily, the first stage booster supporting this launch will fly for the 28th time, having previously launched missions including the Ax-2 and Ax-3 crewed spaceflights, cargo resupply missions, and 21 prior Starlink missions.
Following stage separation, the booster will attempt a vertical landing on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean, exemplifying the reusability strategy that has become central to SpaceX’s cost structure. According to Wikipedia, the Falcon 9 carries a launch cost of $74 million as of 2026, with the booster’s ability to land and reflown driving down expenses compared to expendable alternatives.
Starlink has emerged as SpaceX’s dominant revenue driver and only currently profitable business segment. Wikipedia notes that Starlink had become SpaceX’s largest business segment, generating $11.4 billion in revenue and $4.4 billion in operating income. The satellite internet constellation now comprises over 10,400 active satellites in orbit, according to Space.com reporting from June 2026.
SpaceX has maintained an unprecedented launch cadence throughout the first half of 2026. An Instagram post from spac.fans indicated that by mid-year, SpaceX had flown 59 Falcon 9 missions dedicated to Starlink, deploying 1,565 satellites—a pace that underscores the company’s commitment to expanding global broadband coverage and demonstrates the efficiency gains from booster reusability.
