Milo Yiannopoulos, the British far-right commentator and former chief of staff to Kanye West, has been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana on August 27, 2026, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Yiannopoulos, 41, legally entered the United States on May 14, 2019, but overstayed his visa in violation of immigration law. The DHS statement said he “chose to overstay his welcome” and was issued a final removal order by an immigration judge on July 22 after failing to appear for his immigration hearing.
Yiannopoulos served as chief of staff and head of special projects for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, for roughly two years. Yiannopoulos became a prominent political commentator in the years before aligning with West.
