Nintendo unveiled major Switch 2 titles earlier today during a 50-minute Direct presentation on June 9, including the long-rumored Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake and Kingdom Hearts IV, marking a significant moment for the company’s gaming portfolio and its stock positioning.
The most anticipated announcement was the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2, launching in 2026. This marks the second time Nintendo has revisited the classic title; the company previously released Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on Nintendo 3DS in 2013 with remastered visuals and gameplay updates. The announcement aligns with the Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary this year.
Nintendo also confirmed Kingdom Hearts IV is coming to Switch 2, alongside the Kingdom Hearts I-III Collection, expanding the franchise’s presence on the platform. These titles represent major third-party support for the Switch 2 ecosystem.
Star Fox also received a new entry announcement during the Direct, adding to the slate of exclusive and returning franchises shown.
The Direct showcased approximately 50 minutes of game announcements focused on both Switch 2 and original Nintendo Switch titles launching this year. The presentation was immediately followed by a 95-minute Nintendo Treehouse: Live session with extended gameplay demonstrations.
Nintendo’s stock closed at $12.23 on June 8, 2026, according to market data, ahead of the announcement event.
