President Trump disclosed over 1,000 stock trades in June, with transactions totaling between $78.1 million and $263.1 million, according to a financial disclosure published by the US Office of Government Ethics on Saturday.
The filing revealed 1,051 individual securities transactions made during the month, including significant purchases of Berkshire Hathaway, Visa, Mastercard, and Cintas. The largest single transaction was a June 22 sale of between $5 million and $25 million in shares of a Vanguard Group exchange-traded fund.
The White House said Trump has no role in directing these trades. A statement from the administration said the president’s accounts are invested in “computer-based model portfolios” designed to automatically replicate stock indexes, managed by independent third-party firms that receive no advance notice of trading activity.

The June disclosure is part of a broader pattern of intense trading activity. Trump reported more than 21,000 securities trades in 2025 alone, with a total value between $600 million and $1.86 billion. Some days saw the same security bought and sold multiple times.
The trading volume has drawn scrutiny from Democratic lawmakers. In August 2026, Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Robert Garcia sent a detailed letter to Trump questioning the timing and nature of his stock transactions. The lawmakers cited over 17,000 stock trades worth up to $1.56 billion, including more than 3,555 trades in the first three months of 2026 alone valued at up to $500 million.
Warren and Garcia highlighted 30 examples of transactions they characterized as suspicious, including purchases made shortly before the administration announced deals with those companies or policies benefiting them. They also noted instances where Trump sold stock days before announcements that could have harmed those companies’ valuations.
The lawmakers pointed to specific examples: Meta stock sales worth up to $25 million made days before an administration official announced plans to force data center builders—specifically Meta—to cover all infrastructure costs. They also documented Trump’s trading in private prison company stocks, noting that in 2025 he made 29 trades in GEO Group and CoreCivic worth up to $990,000 while his administration pursued aggressive immigration enforcement policies that benefited those companies.
“The sheer volume of this trading activity and the timing of a number of transactions, raise questions about whether you are using your knowledge of government activities, your official authority, or the vast megaphone provided by the Presidency to make investments or move markets to your personal benefit,” Warren and Garcia wrote in their letter, dated August 13, 2026.

White House Response and Precedent
The Trump Organization dismissed the lawmakers’ concerns, reiterating that the president’s investments are independently managed. Unlike his recent predecessors—George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, who placed assets in blind trusts with independent overseers—Trump has not divested his personal holdings or placed them under independent control.
The trading disclosure also comes as Trump’s first-year trading activity continues to draw scrutiny. A CNN investigation found that Trump made at least 44 stock purchases of 21 different companies within a week before posting complimentary messages about those firms on Truth Social, raising additional concerns about the relationship between his social media activity and his portfolio movements.
The White House has denied that the disclosures create conflicts of interest. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent defended Trump’s trades at a Senate Finance Committee hearing, despite acknowledging his previous support for a congressional stock trading ban for lawmakers.
