Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff leads Republican challenger Mike Collins by 13 points in Georgia’s 2026 Senate race, according to a Fox News poll released July 1, with Ossoff receiving 56% support compared to 43% for Collins among registered voters.
The poll marks a stark contrast to Ossoff’s narrow victory in 2021, when he defeated Republican David Perdue by just over a percentage point in a January runoff. Ossoff is now enjoying substantially stronger support five years into his first term.
Collins secured the Republican nomination on June 16, 2026, defeating former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley in a runoff that followed endorsements from President Trump for Collins and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp for Dooley. Collins will face Ossoff in the general election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
The Fox News survey shows Ossoff benefits from strong support among key Democratic constituencies. He leads by 87% among Black voters, 68% among those under age 30, 68% among independents, and 66% among moderates. Among women under 45, he holds 66% support.
Collins’ strongest groups include White evangelical Christians at 79%, White men without a college degree at 65%, and rural voters at 55%. About half of gun-owner households (53%) and veterans (50%) also back him.
Ossoff enjoys nearly universal party loyalty, with 96% of Democrats backing him. Among his supporters, 83% say their vote is for him rather than against Collins. For Collins, 89% of Republicans support him, but only 56% say their vote is for him—44% say it is primarily against Ossoff.
Inflation dominates voter concerns heading into the general election, with 40% citing it as most important to their Senate vote. Healthcare ranks second at 13%, followed by political divisions, immigration, and jobs at 11% each. Ossoff holds large advantages among voters most concerned about inflation (leading by 21 points), healthcare (leading by 40 points), and political divisions (leading by 18 points). Collins leads significantly among those focused on immigration, with a 45-point advantage.
Ossoff’s favorability rating stands at 58%, substantially higher than Collins’ 44% and President Trump’s 42%. Georgians are also more concerned that Collins is too close to Trump (53% extremely or very concerned) than that Ossoff is too liberal (47% extremely or very concerned).
