Power Plate Meals, LLC has recalled approximately 5,795 pounds of frozen meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes due to the presence of undeclared soy, a known allergen that poses a serious health risk to consumers with soy allergies.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall on June 18, 2026, for 13.3-ounce vacuum-sealed plastic tray packages labeled “POWER PLATE MEALS MEATLOAF WITH GARLIC MASHED POTATOES.” The affected products bear establishment number “217SEND” inside the USDA mark of inspection and carry “USE BY” dates between June 25, 2026, and June 10, 2027.
The West Fargo, North Dakota cooperative interstate shipping establishment produced the recalled items between June 25, 2025, and June 10, 2026. They were shipped to distributors in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, where they may remain in consumers’ freezers.
The problem was discovered when a state inspector notified FSIS that the final label did not contain soy in the ingredients list, even though the product contained soy. According to the FSIS announcement, the product contains soy, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. This misbranding creates a serious risk for anyone with a soy allergy or severe sensitivity, who could experience a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
Undeclared allergens are the leading cause of food recalls in the United States, accounting for 26 to 34 percent of all recalls in recent years. Soy is one of the nine major food allergens, along with wheat, shellfish, eggs, fish, peanuts, milk, tree nuts, and sesame, which together account for approximately 90 percent of all food allergic reactions.
The FSIS has classified this recall as Class II, indicating a remote probability of adverse health consequences. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, according to the agency. Consumers who have purchased the recalled meatloaf are urged not to consume it and should throw the product away or return it to the place of purchase.
Anyone concerned about a potential reaction should contact a healthcare provider. Consumers with food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-674-6854 or email MPHotline@usda.gov.
