Kosovo expects the renewal of preferential trade agreement with EU
The deadline for the preferential trade agreement set by the European Union for all Western Balkan countries, including Kosovo, has expired on December 31 last year. Officials from the resigning Government expect these measures to continue until 2015. This preferential agreement enables the exportation of regional goods in European Union markets without tariffs or quotas, writes “Radio Evropa e Lirë”.
Until the end of 2010, Kosovo has had an autonomous preferential trade agreement with EU along with other Western Balkan countries, supplemented by an additional recommendation that these preferences were to be extended for another five years, say Government officials.
Advisors in the Ministry of Integrations say that autonomous trade measures regarding the next five years will be concluded in the next European Council meeting, which will be held on January 18th.
