US Mint releases 2026 Silver Proof Set today for $245

The US Mint released its 2026 Silver Proof Set today at noon Eastern Time, priced at $245 per set and limited to 10 sets per household. The release marks the first availability of the Semiquincentennial Silver Proof Set, which honors the nation’s 250th anniversary with specially designed coins bearing the dual dates “1776~2026.”

The set contains 10 proof-quality coins, all bearing the “S” mint mark of the San Francisco Mint. The dime, five quarters, and half dollar are struck in 99.9% fine silver, while the set also includes a proof Lincoln penny, a Jefferson nickel, and a Native American dollar coin in their standard compositions.

The 2026 Silver Proof Set represents a significant price increase from its predecessor. The 2025-S Silver Proof Set was priced at $150, according to Coin World. The 2026 set’s $245 price point reflects broader increases across the US Mint’s silver product line announced earlier this year. The Federal Register confirmed the official pricing in February 2026, listing the set at $245.00.

The Semiquincentennial quarters included in the set honor four themes central to American history: the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Each quarter features unique designs celebrating these founding moments. The half dollar and dime also carry special Semiquincentennial reverse designs, making this set a singular opportunity to collect all the nation’s 250th anniversary coins in silver proof finish.

The set was originally scheduled for an earlier release date in April 2026, according to the American Numismatic Association, but the June 11 date became the official launch. Orders are being placed through the US Mint’s website, and collectors interested in subscribing to future Silver Proof Sets can also set up annual subscriptions.
