Joe Rogan says Trump ‘might’ve messed up’ with Iran war

Podcaster Joe Rogan said on his show Wednesday that President Trump “might’ve f—ed it up” by launching a war with Iran, joining growing conservative criticism of the conflict that began more than four months ago.

Speaking on “The Joe Rogan Experience” alongside right-wing British politician Rupert Lowe, Rogan stated bluntly: “We might’ve f—ed it up by going to Iran. I mean, this war is not something anybody that’s conservative wanted. Most people don’t want it, except supporters of Israel.” He continued, “They’re the only people that seem to be thinking it’s a good idea in this country.”

Rogan’s remarks came hours after the United States and Iran resumed military strikes following an almost three-week ceasefire. Trump had announced the ceasefire’s collapse earlier that day, saying Iran’s leaders needed to be held accountable for attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The central tension in Rogan’s criticism centers on Trump’s 2024 campaign message. “Most people are horrified by the idea, because Trump was elected. One of the pillars that he stood for, apparently, was that he doesn’t want any more wars,” Rogan said. Trump did repeatedly promise “no new wars” during his 2024 campaign, though he later denied making such a guarantee in a June 2026 interview.

The Iran war began on February 28, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched coordinated airstrikes. Trump stated at the time that the purpose was regime change, citing Iran’s “menacing activities” toward the U.S. and its allies, including support for Hamas and Hezbollah. The conflict has persisted for over four months with periods of de-escalation and renewed hostilities.

Rogan’s latest criticism is not his first on the subject. In March 2026, shortly after the war started, he called it “insane” and said people felt “betrayed.” In April, he expressed disbelief that Trump had launched the conflict, and he has continued voicing opposition in subsequent months. According to Forbes, “The Joe Rogan Experience” reaches approximately 11 million listeners and downloads per episode, making it Spotify’s top global podcast.

Rogan’s relationship with Trump has been volatile throughout 2026. He praised Trump’s UFC “Freedom 250” White House birthday event as “so America” and “so Trump,” yet has also criticized Trump’s handling of immigration enforcement, his treatment of the Epstein files, and other policy decisions.
