Startup Weekend Prishtina Category: Project Period: March 2010 - March 2011 Donor/Client: Procredit Bank / Kosovo - Young Europeans / MASHT / MEF / USAID-KPEP Startup Weekend, first launched in California three years ago, is a concept of a conference focusing on learning by creating. It is driven by quick decisions, ‘out of the box’ thinking, unique facilitation techniques and the elementary goal of letting (potential) founders and entrepreneurs discover and show what they can do. The goal was to invite up to 100 participants to come together for two and a half days, providing them with everything they need in order to live their creativity, develop their ideas and bring their thoughts to paper. Additionally, the organizing team and external experts were available for feedback and support round the clock, wherever necessary. The first Startup Weekend Prishtina was organised on 26-28 March 2010 in the American University of Kosovo. The event was jointly organised by ECIKS, the Austrian NGO StartVienna and the Kosovar junior enterprise UNIgroup. 76 kosovars participated in the event which resulted in 7 Startup projects. The second Startup Weekend in Kosovo is planned for Autumn / Winter 2010 / 2011. |
