Austrian company invests in the processing of vegetables in Kosovo
Vienna - The Vienna based Economic Initiative for Kosova (ECIKS), representing the Investment Promotion Agency of Kosovo (IPAK) in the German-speaking region, continues to facilitate foreign investments in Kosovo.
The next project identified and supported by ECIKS brings half a million euros worth investment in the agriculture sector, more precisely in the cultivation and processing of vegetables in Kosovo for the needs of the Austrian market.
The Austrian company Kolm Pfluger, in cooperation with the Kosovar company Etliner and with financial support of Austrian Development Agency (ADA) will invest around half a million euros in Kosovo. The project will create up to 100 new jobs in the region of Shtime and Suhareka. Part of vegetables will also be cultivated in the region of Krusha in southern Kosovo.
Since 2005, ECIKS has identified the IT and agriculture sectors in Kosovo as sectors offering the most potential for foreign investments. ECIKS has recently also facilitated the first investment in the IT sector in Kosovo in the field of software development.
In the meantime, the Investment Promotion Office of Kosovo in Vienna, managed by ECIKS, continues to support other serious investment projects, expected to be realised in the near future.
Since its opening in 2006, the Vienna office has identified 579 foreign potential investors, with 71 of them having already used the services of the office. Currently, 30 potential investors are using the services of IPAK Vienna. During the same time, 35 site visits of potential investors in Kosovo were organised by IPAK Vienna.
The Austrian company Kolm Pfluger marks the 10th investment in Kosovo supported or facilitated by IPAK Vienna.
