New trade agreement with the EU possible
After the return of trade preferences, Kosovar manufacturers are expecting to export to EU countries without any customs duty. For this reason, this year Kosovo is expected to begin negotiations with the EU to achieve a Free Trade Agreement.
Business representatives welcome this agreement and require that the manufacturers do even more to promote their products abroad.
Negotiations with the EU on the Free Trade Agreement are expected to begin soon.
Officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said that after the return of preferential measures, this year they expect to begin negotiations for other agreements. „We hope to be able to start the negotiations with the European Union on the Free Trade Agreement this year" was said in a statement of the MTI.
With this agreement, Kosovo would be part of a 500 million market without having to pay any custom duties. This will also be another important step in the process of EU integration.
