Kosovo: Slovenians acquire another bank

Prishtina, 21 May 2007 - Head of "Banka e Re e Kosoves" (BRK), Albert Lumezi confirmed that soon the new owner of the BRK will be the New Bank of Lubljana (Nova Ljubljanska Banka).

Without wishing to reveal any further information on the matter, Lumezi informed that the sale contract will be signed next week. “The arrival of strategic investors in Kosovo is in the interest of the further development of the financial sector. I believe the decision to purchase the shares of Kasabank and BRK is the right step taken by all parties,” stated Deputy Head of Central Banking Authority of Kosovo (CBAK), Hashim Rexhepi.
