Farm Rich frozen pizza recalled in 21 states over metal contamination

Rich Products Corp. is voluntarily recalling Farm Rich Pizza Cheese Crunchers over possible metal contamination, affecting 6,408 cases distributed across 21 states. The company initiated the recall on May 19, 2026, and the FDA classified it as a Class II recall on June 9, 2026, meaning exposure to the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.

The affected frozen pizza snack was sold in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. Consumers can identify the recalled product by its lot number 003029976, UPC code 041322652256, and best-by date of July 7, 2027.

A Class II recall represents the second-most severe risk level in the FDA’s classification system. According to FDA guidance, a Class II designation indicates that use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. This distinguishes it from a Class I recall, which applies when there is a reasonable probability the product will cause serious adverse health consequences.

Metal contamination in frozen foods has prompted multiple recalls in 2026. In March and April, frozen pizza and bread products from other manufacturers were recalled over metal fragment contamination, with some recalls affecting over 25,000 cases across multiple states. The Farm Rich recall follows similar patterns of metal contamination incidents that have affected the frozen food supply this year.

The FDA recommends that consumers who have the recalled product should not consume it and instead discard it or return it to the original place of purchase. Retailers including Walmart, Lidl, and Dollar General typically carry Farm Rich products, though the FDA has not identified specific store locations for this recall. Consumers with questions about the recall can contact the FDA or check the agency’s website for updates.
