Kayem hot dog and bacon recall: Kayem Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling approximately 1,584,361 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products, including hot dogs, bacon and deli meats, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said.
The FSIS announcement said the products were produced from about March 31, 2026, to Oct. 7, 2026, and were recalled because they “may have experienced temperature abuse during storage,” listing the recall as High — Class I. The agency posted a full product list and UPC codes on its recall page.

Kayem’s own press release said the recall stems from a cooling system malfunction at one of the company’s warehouses that resulted in storage temperature deviations for items stored and shipped between June 7 and Oct. 14, and that the company is working with the USDA on the voluntary recall.
The FSIS notice says the affected products bear establishment numbers “EST. M/P 7839,” “EST. P 20935A” and “EST. M 9520” inside the USDA mark of inspection, and that shipments went to retail and foodservice locations nationwide and to Hong Kong. FSIS also said the problem was discovered after a retail customer complaint about warm product temperatures on Oct. 1, 2026.

Kayem said in its October 16 release that it is contacting wholesale and retail customers directly with instructions to identify and dispose of recalled product, and that consumers should dispose of or return affected products. The company provided a consumer phone number and media contact for questions.
For consumers wondering whether an item at home is affected, FSIS published a downloadable product list and UPC codes; consumers with food-safety concerns can call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888‑MPHotline.
