Jalalian said four women are among the group and that “most of these prisoners had been detained in Iraq for possessing narcotics, pills, and contraband, or for carrying packages entrusted to them by others,” the report added.
The transfer follows sustained cooperation between Iran’s Ministry of Justice and the Foreign Ministry, Jalalian told Mehr News, which said judicial formalities have been completed before the handover.
