Monterrey selected to host Mexico’s Foreign Trade Congress in October

Monterrey has been selected to host Mexico’s 32nd Foreign Trade Congress in October 2026, a major international business event organized by the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE). The congress will take place October 27–29 under the theme “Made in Mexico: Quality and Global Vision,” bringing together more than 750 business leaders, government officials, trade specialists, academic institutions, and international organizations to discuss the future of global trade, investment attraction, and Mexico’s integration into international value chains.

The selection reflects Monterrey’s growing prominence as a trade and logistics hub. The Northeast region, anchored by Nuevo León, currently accounts for approximately 41% of Mexico’s total exports, supported by a strong manufacturing base, advanced logistics infrastructure, and strategic proximity to the United States.

Nuevo León ranks as one of Mexico’s strongest export performers. The state generated more than $59 billion USD in exports, representing approximately 8.8% of national exports, while continuing to attract significant investment projects from global companies. The region possesses the largest concentration of industrial parks in Mexico, supplemented by extensive highway networks, rail infrastructure, and international connectivity through Monterrey’s airport and border crossings.

The 2026 edition will feature Italy as the guest country, showcasing companies, institutions, and organizations focused on strengthening commercial and investment ties with Mexico. Both nations share a commitment to promoting high-value manufacturing and global competitiveness, according to organizers.

The congress will include keynote presentations, specialized panels, business matchmaking sessions, and discussions addressing key topics such as global trade trends, supply chain resilience, investment attraction, export growth, and industrial competitiveness. By hosting this landmark event, Monterrey reinforces its role as a strategic platform for international business, foreign investment, and export-driven growth.
