Kosovo to build small hydropower plants

Prishtina, KOSOVO - The Government of Kosovo has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Energy on the procedures for the construction of small hydropower plants in the country.

The Government has selected 18 locations where such power plants can be constructed. All hydropower plants should be financed through private capital / investments.

The Minister of Energy of Kosovo, Ms. Justina Pula-Shiroka, stated that the construction of hydropower plants can only begin after September 2008.
