Privatization of ski resort in Kosovo: information event

Vienna, 20 September 2007 - The Kosovo Trust Agency (KTA), responsible for the privatization process in Kosovo, has announced its intention to privatize Kosovo's ski resort Brezovica by the end of 2007. The ski resort in the south of Kosovo is one of the biggest in the region. With slopes between 1.700 and 2.500 meters above sea level, Brezovica offers excellent weather and snow conditions as well as long ski seasons. Ski slopes of Brezovica are also registered with International Ski Federation (FIS).

The resort offered for privatization also includes 3 hotels with 680 rooms, 2 Restaurants and 6 ski lifts with transport capacity of 10.000 skiers per hour. Through its proximity to Prishtina Airport (60 km) and Skopje Airport (70 km), the resort is a possible destination for international tourists and has potential to become the most favourable winter tourism destination in the Balkans.

In order to inform potential investors in detail about this great investment opportunity, the Economic Initiative for Kosova (ECIKS), as the official representative of Investment Promotion Agency of Kosovo (IPAK) in Vienna, in cooperation with Kosovar Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), IPAK, Kosovo Trust Agency (KTA) and Raiffeisen Zentralbank is organizing an information event on 7 November 2007 in the building of Raiffeisen Zentralbank in Vienna, Am Stadtpark 9, A-1030 (exact begin hour to be announced later)

Representatives of the MTI, IPAK, KTA and ECIKS will inform potential investors about specifics, capacities and potentials of the Skiing Resort Brezovica as well as about the privatization process in general, rules of tender, business and investment climate in Kosovo, etc.

The number of participants for this event is limited. Companies from the sector of winter tourism and potential investors will be favoured. For additional information and the obligatory registration, please contact:
