Amazon layoffs in Washington state will affect 121 roles, according to a state WARN filing that lists cuts across Seattle, Bellevue and the Sumner fulfillment center and names Oct. 1–27 as the effective separation dates.
The filing and local reporting say the largest concentration is 49 jobs at Amazon’s SEA106 building in Bellevue, with 32 positions listed at the BFI1 fulfillment center in Sumner and additional corporate roles in Seattle, including product and HR positions, according to GeekWire and FOX13 Seattle.

GeekWire reported that the WARN notice shows affected employees were notified between July 1 and July 29, and quoted an Amazon spokesperson saying teams “regularly review their structures” and that the company is “committed to supporting employees whose roles are impacted by them.”
FOX13 Seattle’s coverage cites the state Employment Security Department notice and gives a schedule of separations: the first layoffs begin Oct. 1, 32 employees are expected to be separated by Oct. 2, 66 by Oct. 20 and the final separations by Oct. 27.

Local outlets noted the cuts span both corporate tech roles and hourly fulfillment jobs. GeekWire listed examples ranging from entry-level software development engineers and applied scientists to a vice president of legal and senior software managers at Bellevue, and warehouse associates and service technicians at Sumner.
The filings are the latest in a series of Washington-state WARN notices from Amazon this year; GeekWire and FOX13 reference previous notices that together amounted to larger earlier rounds affecting hundreds or thousands of roles.
Analysts and local business coverage have framed the moves as part of Amazon’s periodic team restructurings and shifting investment priorities, though Amazon did not tie the WARN filing to a single public project or new initiative in the statements cited by reporters.
