Andy Beshear urges Mitch McConnell to "prove he can serve" or resign

Asked about Beshear’s demand, Thune told NBC News that he views the matter as one for McConnell and his Kentucky constituents to resolve and said he did not see it as his responsibility to act on the governor’s letter.

The letters followed rising public scrutiny of McConnell’s health and absence from Senate votes; news outlets including The Washington Post and CNN covered Beshear’s call for transparency and for McConnell to address Kentuckians directly.
