Alessio Sanfilippo named Redfin CEO, former Meta executive

Alessio Sanfilippo, a former Meta and Intuit executive, has been named Chief Executive Officer of Redfin, effective immediately, according to an announcement from Rocket Companies on August 31, 2026. Sanfilippo brings more than 20 years of experience across product, data, analytics, and technology to the role.

At Meta, Sanfilippo served as Vice President of Insights for Reality Labs, where he led global teams across data science, data engineering, and user research while helping build the market for Meta’s AI-enabled wearable glasses. He also previously led data and user research for WhatsApp, where his work shaped the product’s U.S. growth strategy as it expanded to more than 100 million monthly active users in the country.

Before joining Meta, Sanfilippo led data and analytics at Intuit, applying artificial intelligence and machine learning across products including TurboTax and QuickBooks while helping shape product vision and go-to-market strategy. He also held leadership roles at SAP, GoSeek, Hotwire, and United Airlines, according to Rocket Companies.

Varun Krishna, CEO of Rocket Companies, praised Sanfilippo’s background in a statement. “I worked with Alessio at Intuit and saw firsthand how he combines deep analytical thinking with a real instinct for the consumer,” Krishna said. “He has spent his career using data and technology to make complex products work better for enormous audiences.”

This appointment marks the end of Redfin’s interim leadership period. Glenn Kelman, who had led Redfin for 20 years, stepped down in January 2026 following Rocket Companies’ acquisition of Redfin in July 2025 for $1.75 billion. Varun Krishna, Rocket’s CEO, had been serving as interim CEO of Redfin since Kelman’s departure while the company searched for a permanent successor.

Sanfilippo is also a longtime Redfin customer who has used the platform for more than a decade through multiple home purchases. “I’ve used Redfin for years, including through some of the biggest decisions my family has made,” Sanfilippo said. “I’m excited to work with this team and combine what Redfin has built with Rocket’s capabilities to make finding, buying and owning a home simpler for millions of people.”

The appointment comes as Rocket Companies works to integrate Redfin’s real estate platform with its mortgage and financial services offerings. Rocket Mortgage and Redfin recently launched Super Savings, a program offering homebuyers and sellers who work with both companies up to $20,000 in combined lender credits and commission savings.
