Nvidia beat second-quarter earnings expectations with $96.2 billion in revenue, significantly surpassing Wall Street’s consensus forecast and the company’s own guidance, while projecting third-quarter revenue of $108 billion.
The results reflect accelerating demand for the company’s Vera Rubin chips and continued strength in AI infrastructure spending. Nvidia had guided for $91 billion in Q2 revenue in May 2026, setting the bar at a midpoint that excluded China sales.
In the first quarter ended April 26, 2026, Nvidia reported record revenue of $81.6 billion, up 20% sequentially and 85% year-over-year, according to the company’s earnings announcement in May. That quarter showed data center revenue comprising roughly 90% of total sales, driven by hyperscaler investments in AI training and inference infrastructure.
The $108 billion Q3 guidance would mark Nvidia’s first quarter above $100 billion in revenue, cementing its dominance in the AI accelerator market. Vera Rubin, the company’s next-generation data center chip, is ramping production ahead of schedule, with customers including major cloud providers and enterprises building AI infrastructure.
Analysts had widely expected Nvidia to beat both revenue and earnings-per-share estimates. Bank of America Securities predicted a beat to $94-95 billion in Q2 revenue, citing strong Vera Rubin demand and continued cloud spending. Jefferies analysts said Nvidia was poised to deliver its biggest revenue beat ever, with Q3 guidance expected to reach the $107-108 billion range.
The company has now beaten Wall Street earnings estimates in 22 of the past 24 quarters, according to pre-earnings analysis. Data center revenue, which represents the vast majority of Nvidia’s sales, continues to grow as enterprises accelerate AI deployment across training and inference workloads.
