Bill O’Reilly slammed Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff’s recent remarks about Trump aide Natalie Harp as a “gutter snipe statement,” calling them among the lowest form of political attack during an episode of his No Spin News show on Tuesday.
Ossoff made the comments during a Sunday rally in Atlanta, where he accused President Trump of neglecting his duties as commander-in-chief. “He doesn’t want to do the job,” Ossoff said, adding that Trump would rather “travel with Natalie”—a direct reference to Harp, Trump’s 34-year-old executive assistant.
O’Reilly defended Harp fiercely, emphasizing that she has “no history of doing anything untoward” and noting that Trump helped her during a health crisis. “This woman is working for her country, whether you like the Trump administration or not,” O’Reilly said on his show. He argued that Ossoff’s insinuation of an inappropriate relationship was impossible given modern Secret Service protocols surrounding the president.
In his critique, O’Reilly quoted Ossoff’s remarks and condemned what he saw as a personal attack masquerading as political commentary. “You don’t get lower than that. This is the lowest you go,” O’Reilly stated. He went further, saying he would “vote for Putin over Ossoff” to express his disapproval of the senator’s approach, calling Ossoff and his allies “smear merchants.”
Harp, a former television anchor at One America News Network, has become one of Trump’s most visible and loyal aides. According to reporting, she is known in Trump circles as the “human printer” for her role in controlling information flow to the president. She first connected with Trump in 2019 when she shared her story of battling stage 2 bone cancer, which she credits Trump with helping her overcome.
Ossoff’s comments sparked immediate backlash from conservative media and Trump allies. Ossoff invoked Trump aide Natalie Harp in fiery campaign speech, drawing criticism for what many saw as a personal attack rather than a substantive policy critique. The Georgia senator, who is seeking reelection in November and has been mentioned as a potential 2028 presidential contender, later defended his remarks without fully explaining the reasoning behind naming Harp specifically.
O’Reilly’s response reflected broader conservative concern that Democratic criticism of Trump was crossing ethical lines. He suggested that if he were Trump, he would investigate Ossoff’s record thoroughly in response to what he characterized as an unfounded and damaging insinuation.
