Ingoglia wins Florida CFO Republican primary, faces Taddeo in November

Blaise Ingoglia won Florida’s Republican primary for Chief Financial Officer on August 18, 2026, capturing 62.2% of the vote against Dr. Frank Collige and setting up a November general election matchup against Democrat Annette Taddeo. The general election is scheduled for November 3, 2026.

Ingoglia, the incumbent CFO, was appointed to the position by Governor Ron DeSantis in July 2025 after serving in the Florida State Senate. As CFO, Ingoglia oversees billions of dollars in taxpayer assets and serves as the state’s chief fiscal officer, responsible for managing and safeguarding state finances, settling accounts, and overseeing accounting, auditing, and payroll services.

Taddeo, a former state senator who represented Miami-Dade County from 2017 to 2022, won the Democratic primary on the same day. She made history in 2017 as the first Latina Democrat elected to the Florida State Senate, flipping a historically Republican seat in a special election. Before her Senate service, she was a small business owner and served as chair of the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee.

In the Democratic primary, Taddeo defeated Earle Ford, an Army veteran and insurance industry figure. The CFO race has centered on property insurance and government accountability, issues that have drawn significant attention in Florida in recent years.

A poll conducted by Ruth’s List in May 2026 showed Taddeo leading Ingoglia in a head-to-head matchup, though the race remained months away from the general election at that time. Ingoglia has received substantial financial and organizational support from the Republican Party of Florida, while Taddeo has drawn backing from Democratic groups focused on government accountability and women’s leadership.

Ingoglia’s appointment to the CFO position was his second move into statewide office in recent years, following his tenure as chair of the Republican Party of Florida. The CFO role is a constitutional cabinet position elected every four years, making the November race a significant contest for control of one of Florida’s key fiscal oversight positions.
