Republican incumbent Randy Fine won the Florida House District 6 primary on August 18, 2026, securing his party’s nomination for the general election in November. Fine, who has represented the district since winning a special election in April 2025, defeated four challengers including social media personality Dan Bilzerian, who mounted a costly campaign against the incumbent.
Early results from Volusia County showed Fine winning 61 percent of the vote in the five-candidate Republican primary. The race drew national attention due to attacks leveled at Fine, the only Jewish Republican in Florida’s congressional delegation, by Bilzerian, who made inflammatory statements during the campaign.

Fine was first elected to Congress in a special election held April 1, 2025, following former Representative Mike Waltz’s appointment to President Trump’s administration. In that special general election, Fine defeated Democrat Josh Weil with 57 percent of the vote, despite being vastly outspent by his opponent. Weil subsequently announced a bid for U.S. Senate in June 2025, leaving the House seat open for the 2026 cycle.
In the Democratic primary held the same day, Eric Yonce won his party’s nomination with 32.4 percent of the vote, advancing to face Fine in the general election on November 3, 2026. Yonce ran alongside three other Democratic candidates: Robert Cooper II, Steve Morgan, and Ronnie Murchinson-Rivera.

The Cook Political Report rates Florida’s 6th Congressional District as Solidly Republican, covering southern St. Johns County, Putnam, and Flagler counties. The district’s strong Republican lean suggests Fine is favored in the general election matchup, though Democrats pointed to Weil’s overperformance in the 2025 special election as evidence of Democratic enthusiasm in an otherwise heavily Republican area.
