SpaceX is set to launch 24 Starlink V2 Mini satellites early Tuesday from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, continuing the company’s rapid deployment cadence for its broadband constellation in 2026.
The Falcon 9 rocket will lift off from Space Launch Complex 4E with a launch window opening at approximately 6:00 p.m. PDT on August 12, according to SpaceX’s launch schedule. The satellites will deploy to low Earth orbit at an altitude of 281 kilometers (175 miles).

The mission represents one of dozens of Starlink launches SpaceX has conducted this year. In 2026, SpaceX has maintained a cadence of multiple Starlink deployments per week, with missions launching from both the California coast and Florida’s Cape Canaveral.
SpaceX is also undergoing a major reconfiguration of its existing Starlink constellation during 2026. The company plans to lower approximately 4,400 satellites currently orbiting at around 550 kilometers (342 miles) down to roughly 480 kilometers (298 miles) over the course of the year, a move designed to reduce space debris risk and improve orbital safety, according to statements from SpaceX leadership.

The Starlink constellation has grown to more than 6,000 deployed satellites since the program’s first launch in 2019, making it the largest active satellite fleet in operation. Starlink provides broadband internet coverage globally, including in areas with limited terrestrial infrastructure.
Tuesday’s launch follows SpaceX’s recent Starship recovery from the Indian Ocean, which demonstrated the company’s progress on its next-generation heavy-lift vehicle. The company continues to balance Falcon 9 operations for Starlink and other missions while advancing Starship development for future lunar and Mars exploration.
