United Airlines will launch nonstop Saturday service from West Palm Beach to San Francisco beginning November 7, marking the first nonstop route between Palm Beach County and the California coast. The weekly service will provide direct access to San Francisco Bay and connections throughout the western United States, according to an announcement from Donald J. Trump International Airport.
The new route represents United’s continued expansion of seasonal nonstop flights, a strategy the carrier has pursued throughout 2026. United currently operates from the airport with five daily nonstop flights to hub cities including Chicago O’Hare, Newark, Houston, Denver, and Washington Dulles.
West Palm Beach has seen significant growth in nonstop destinations over recent years. The airport served 8,719,484 passengers through the first six months of 2026, a 1.7 percent increase, with approximately 100 daily departures and arrivals making it the 51st busiest airport in the United States. United is the third-largest carrier at the airport, with 588,124 passengers through June representing 13.45 percent of all carriers.
The San Francisco expansion follows United’s broader strategy of adding seasonal routes to leisure and business destinations. Earlier in August, United launched 12 new routes from Chicago O’Hare despite FAA caps, demonstrating the carrier’s commitment to network growth even as capacity constraints limit some competitors. United’s seasonal routes typically target warm-weather and vacation destinations during peak travel periods.
Donald J. Trump International Airport, which assumed its new name on July 9, 2026, has become the first U.S. airport named after a sitting president. The PBI identifier will shift to DJT in airline reservation systems and boarding passes on August 18, 2026. The airport has announced multiple new routes for fall and winter, including resumed service from United to Washington Dulles and Houston beginning September 24, and Denver resuming October 25.
The route launch reflects broader industry expansion to the West Coast. Other carriers have also announced new nonstop service from West Palm Beach, including Delta’s new Los Angeles service beginning November 21 and Southwest’s Denver route launching the same date. These additions expand West Palm Beach’s nonstop network to more than 40 destinations with 15 carriers.
