Dodge has revived the Super Bee nameplate for the 2027 Charger with a 600-horsepower twin-turbo inline-six engine, marking the return of one of the brand’s most iconic muscle car names for the first time in three years and the first Super Bee ever without a V-8 heartbeat.
The 2027 Charger Super Bee Launch Edition pairs the turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane engine with larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers and a recalibrated tune to deliver 600 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. Dodge targets a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds and an 11.8-second quarter-mile, making it the quickest and most powerful version of the gas-powered Charger lineup.
That performance jump represents a significant upgrade over the existing Charger Scat Pack, which produces 550 horsepower and achieves 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. Compared to the last V-8 Super Bee from 2023, which made 485 horsepower, the new inline-six variant gains 115 horsepower and cuts 0.9 seconds off the 0-60 time, according to Dodge’s official specs.
The Super Bee nameplate dates back to 1968, when Dodge introduced it as a lower-cost, high-performance muscle car based on the Coronet. The original Super Bee was aimed at buyers who wanted big power without paying for luxury options—a formula that emphasized bold graphics, attitude and straight-line speed. In 1971, the Super Bee moved to the Charger platform for a one-year run before the nameplate went dormant for decades.
The brand revived Super Bee in 2007 as a limited-production version of the Charger SRT8, then again in 2012 and 2023. Each iteration leaned on the nameplate’s muscle car heritage to attract enthusiasts. The new 2027 version continues that strategy, though with a modern twist: a turbocharged six-cylinder replaces the traditional V-8 that had powered every previous Super Bee.
Beyond raw horsepower, the 2027 Super Bee Launch Edition is engineered for the track with extensive hardware upgrades. The car features 16-inch Brembo vented rotors with six-piston front and four-piston rear fixed calipers, providing three times more brake fade resistance than any other SIXPACK-powered Charger. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 summer tires mounted on 20-by-11-inch forged wheels provide grip and cornering capability.
Dodge also redesigned the front fascia to increase cooling capacity by more than 50% compared to the standard Charger Scat Pack, supporting sustained high-performance driving on track. The cooling system includes auxiliary radiators integrated into the front bumper corners and enhanced charge-air and engine oil cooling. New continuous damping control adaptive dampers adjust suspension stiffness in real time, with front and rear spring rates increased and the rear stabilizer bar stiffened by 20% to improve handling response.
The Launch Edition will be offered in three exterior colors: new-for-2027 Sucker Punch yellow, Diamond Black, and Shady gray. Each features unique Super Bee graphics, Hyper Lime brake calipers, and exclusive badging. Inside, cloth high-back performance seats with bee-themed headrest logos and Sour Lemon accent stitching emphasize the car’s performance focus.
Dodge has not yet announced pricing or the exact production number for the Limited-production Launch Edition, though the company indicated that details will be revealed later in 2026. The car will be built at the Windsor assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, alongside other Charger variants.
