SoundHound AI stock surges on record Q2 revenue, raised guidance

SoundHound AI stock surged as much as 22% on August 5 after the voice and agentic AI company reported record Q2 2026 revenue of $61.9 million, up 45% year-over-year, and raised its full-year outlook to $230–$260 million. The earnings beat analyst expectations by $9.51 million, with Q2 revenue topping the consensus estimate of $52.39 million.

The company’s non-GAAP net loss per share improved to -$0.02 in Q2 2026, compared to -$0.03 in the same quarter last year, signaling progress toward profitability despite continued investment in growth. CEO Keyvan Mohajer highlighted the momentum, noting that Q2 revenue is now 10 times what it was when SoundHound debuted as a public company in Q2 2022.

The earnings beat reflects accelerating enterprise adoption of SoundHound’s OASYS platform, an orchestrated AI system that enables businesses to deploy conversational AI agents for transactions and workflows. In Q2, the company signed major deals across healthcare, financial services, automotive, and restaurant sectors, including a 7-figure healthcare contract with a nationally ranked health system and agreements with automotive manufacturers in China and the United States.

SoundHound’s growth trajectory has been steep. The company delivered nearly 100% revenue growth in 2025 to $168.9 million, reflecting rising demand for enterprise-grade conversational and agentic AI. This momentum continued into 2026, with Q1 revenue of $44.2 million (up 52% year-over-year) followed by the record Q2 performance.

Enterprise Adoption Driving the Surge

The company’s OASYS platform is positioning it as a leader in the enterprise voice AI space. Q2 business highlights included wins in healthcare—such as a deal with a California managed-care provider—and expansions with existing customers in banking, financial services, and insurance. In the automotive sector, SoundHound expanded partnerships with major manufacturers including Stellantis and Hyundai, adding live generative AI capabilities to their vehicles.

Restaurant and retail chains also drove growth, with expanded deployments at Five Guys, IHOP, Jersey Mike’s, and a major pizza brand now live in more than 75% of their locations. A new multi-year partnership with a Latin American company represented an initial 8-figure deal, expanding SoundHound’s geographic reach across more than 20 countries.

The company’s cash position remained strong at $203 million with no debt as of June 30, 2026, providing runway for continued investment in product development and market expansion. While the company still posted a non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA loss of $9.6 million in Q2, this represented a 33% improvement from the $14.3 million loss in Q2 2025, demonstrating improving unit economics.

SoundHound’s guidance raise signals management confidence in sustained demand for voice and agentic AI solutions. The company is also in the process of closing its acquisition of LivePerson, which it said would update guidance accordingly before the end of 2026, potentially adding further scale to its enterprise platform.
