Burger King is introducing a Whopper Guarantee that promises to remake its signature burger for free if it isn’t served hot or prepared exactly as ordered, the company announced on July 20, 2026.
The guarantee stems from customer feedback Burger King gathered through a Listening Initiative launched in February 2026, when the company gave out President Tom Curtis’s direct phone number and invited customers to call or text with complaints and suggestions. Within four months, the initiative received thousands of calls and texts.

Under the new program, if a guest is unsatisfied with their Whopper, the restaurant will remake it immediately at no charge. To claim a free replacement on the next visit, customers scan a QR code printed inside the Whopper box to receive a unique six-digit code valid for a free classic Whopper within 14 days.
Burger King President Tom Curtis said in a statement: “When we asked Guests where we could do better, they gave us a lot of honest feedback, and now it’s our responsibility to act on it. We’re not going to get everything right every single time, but we’re committed to listening intently and improving every day.”
The Whopper Guarantee is part of a broader service initiative that also introduces a new “Your Way Champion” role—a reimagined restaurant manager position designed to serve as a dedicated point of contact for addressing customer concerns and ensuring orders are prepared correctly.

According to Burger King, the Whopper is the brand’s most iconic item, and customers expect it to be served hot and made exactly as they request. The guarantee applies at participating U.S. Burger King restaurants and is valid through August 31, 2026, while supplies last. The free classic Whopper offer excludes the Impossible Whopper and Whopper Jr., and substitutions and modifications incur additional charges.
The announcement reflects a broader industry trend of fast-food chains responding to consumer complaints about order accuracy and food quality. Burger King’s direct customer feedback approach—putting its president’s phone number in public—has become a centerpiece of the company’s brand transformation strategy, with the company promising additional service improvements and menu innovations throughout 2026.
