Datadog beat Wall Street expectations in Q2 2026 with revenue of $1.12 billion, up 36% year-over-year, as the cloud monitoring platform accelerated growth driven by artificial intelligence product momentum and strong large-customer adoption.

The company reported non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.65, surpassing the consensus estimate of $0.58, while revenue exceeded the expected $1.08 billion. Datadog generated $279 million in free cash flow during the quarter and ended the period with about 4,720 customers carrying annual recurring revenue of $100,000 or more, a 23% increase from the prior year.

The quarter marked an acceleration from Q1 2026, when Datadog crossed the $1 billion revenue milestone for the first time, reporting $1.006 billion in revenue with 32% year-over-year growth. When Datadog reported those Q1 results in May, the stock surged nearly 30% as the company raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $4.30 billion to $4.34 billion, according to reporting at the time.

Datadog highlighted several strategic initiatives driving growth, including the general availability launch of AI-powered Bits Code, Bits Chat, and Bits Agent Builder, along with the introduction of over 100 capabilities at its DASH 2026 conference focused on autonomy and AI-driven operations. The company also acquired Adaptive ML to accelerate its investment in world models and agentic large language model post-training for observability, combining Datadog’s infrastructure and security data with Adaptive ML’s agent expertise.

The company also introduced fully autonomous Bits AI for incident detection, investigation, and remediation.

Despite the earnings beat, Datadog stock declined in early trading following the announcement, according to market reports. The stock closed the prior day at $288.15 and was trading around $283.17 in afternoon trading, down approximately 1.73% on the day.
