Trump Media launches Truth API, a paid data feed offering Wall Street firms early access to President Trump’s Truth Social posts for up to $100,000 per month, starting August 1, 2026. The service delivers posts from the platform’s most influential accounts to subscribers milliseconds before they reach the general public, giving high-frequency traders and institutional investors a potential edge in markets that respond to Trump’s often market-moving announcements.
The company announced the Truth API on July 16 and said it has already signed up customers ahead of the official launch. Interim CEO Kevin McGurn described it as providing “a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths,” according to Trump Media’s announcement.
Trump frequently posts policy announcements about economic matters, trade, and global affairs on Truth Social that can immediately move markets. A Wall Street executive who requested anonymity told NPR, “It’s insane. I can say for myself and 200 of my friends in finance, we’re not getting anywhere near this. In another administration, this would be considered criminal.”

Regulatory Concerns Mount Over Potential Insider Trading Violations
Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff sent a letter to the SEC on July 29 calling Truth API “an outrageous abuse of the President’s office for his personal benefit that undermines everyday investors and the integrity of our markets.” They asked SEC Chair Paul Atkins to investigate whether the service violates laws prohibiting insider trading and market manipulation before its August 1 launch.
Renée Jones, a Boston College professor and former top SEC official, told NPR that the paid offering appears to run afoul of insider trading laws. “If the president’s Truth Social posts are being monetized, and if some people get special access to them, that’s misappropriated information,” Jones said. “By giving people his posts early, he is also violating his duty of trust and confidence.” She cited the 2012 Stock Act, which prohibits members of Congress and the executive branch from trading stocks based on privileged information.
Virginia Canter, a former SEC lawyer now with Democracy Defenders Fund, argued that the product “disadvantages regular investors who unfortunately may be on the losing sides of those trades because they do not have the same access to information.” She called it a step toward “normalizing insider trading that undermines the integrity of U.S. markets.”

Trump Media’s spokeswoman Shannon Devine dismissed the regulatory concerns, stating that Truth API “offers customers the fastest way to ingest publicly available Truth Social data” and that “critics must have invented a new theory of ‘insider trading’ based on publicly available information.” She accused Senate Democrats of mischaracterizing the service “either out of ideological opposition to free markets or a failure to grasp the distinction between public and nonpublic information.”
The SEC declined to comment on the senators’ letter. Trump is the largest shareholder of Trump Media & Technology Group through a trust controlled by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., meaning the Trump family’s wealth will grow as customers sign up for the service. The company’s stock has fallen about 80% since it began trading in late March 2024.
