CoreWeave surged more than 16% on July 30 after announcing a strategic partnership with Leidos to deliver secure artificial intelligence cloud services to U.S. federal agencies and the Intelligence Community. The collaboration marks a significant expansion of CoreWeave’s push into the federal market, combining Leidos’ decades of government mission experience with CoreWeave’s AI-native cloud platform.
Under the partnership, CoreWeave will provide its AI-native cloud platform and infrastructure, while Leidos will lead mission integration, secure architecture, and customer delivery for intelligence and defense programs. The companies announced the deal would operate within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF)-accredited data centers, offering capabilities specifically designed for classified national security work.

The collaboration aims to deliver classified AI cloud services for model training and deployment, intelligence analyst augmentation, cyber simulation and autonomous defense testing, synthetic data generation, and edge-to-cloud AI orchestration. According to the press release, the combined capabilities will be designed with federal security controls, auditability, model governance, and data protection as foundational requirements.
CoreWeave launched its dedicated federal business unit, CoreWeave Federal, in October 2025 to pursue FedRAMP and other government authorizations. The new Leidos partnership represents the first major operational outcome of that initiative. Leidos, headquartered in Reston, Virginia, reported annual revenues of approximately $17.2 billion for the fiscal year ended January 2, 2026, and serves as a leader in national security mission solutions with more than 50,000 global employees.

The deal reflects growing government demand for sovereign, secure AI infrastructure dedicated to national security missions. The Intelligence Community and Department of War have identified AI-driven analysis as a defining competitive advantage, creating urgency for highly secure cloud capacity built to government specifications rather than commercial standards. CoreWeave’s partnership with Leidos positions the company to address this market need while leveraging Leidos’ established relationships and security clearances within the federal sector.
CoreWeave’s stock has attracted significant investor interest throughout 2026 as demand for AI infrastructure accelerates. The company went public on Nasdaq in March 2025 and has seen multiple analyst upgrades in recent months. Baird initiated coverage with an Outperform rating, and Truist upgraded the stock to Buy, citing strong demand for AI cloud services and CoreWeave’s technical advantages in serving high-performance AI workloads.
