Texas Instruments beats Q2 earnings with $5.46B revenue, raises guidance

Texas Instruments reported second quarter revenue of $5.46 billion, beating Wall Street expectations and signaling strong demand across industrial, data center, and automotive markets. The company also raised its third quarter outlook, with guidance for revenue between $5.65 billion and $6.15 billion and earnings per share of $2.23 to $2.57.

Q2 earnings per share reached $2.14, which included a 5-cent benefit not in the company’s original guidance. The beat reflects broad momentum across TI’s product portfolio, with revenue climbing 13% sequentially and 23% from the year-ago quarter.

The analog segment, which makes up the bulk of TI’s business, generated $4.365 billion in revenue, up 26% year-over-year. Embedded processing revenue was $788 million, up 16% from the prior year. Operating profit surged 48% to $2.31 billion, demonstrating the leverage in TI’s business model as demand accelerates.

CEO Haviv Ilan highlighted the strength of TI’s cash generation, noting that the company produced $8.7 billion in operating cash flow over the trailing 12 months, with free cash flow of $6.5 billion. This marked a 271% increase in free cash flow compared to the year-ago period. TI returned $5.8 billion to shareholders over the past 12 months through dividends and buybacks.

The momentum in Q2 reflects a multi-year recovery in analog semiconductors, driven by AI infrastructure buildout and a broader rebound in industrial and automotive demand. In Q1, TI had reported industrial revenue growth exceeding 30% year-over-year and data center growth of roughly 90%, according to Reuters. This strength has continued into Q2, with the company citing broad-based expansion across its end markets.

TI’s ability to beat expectations while raising forward guidance underscores confidence in sustained demand. The company’s third quarter revenue guidance midpoint of $5.9 billion represents 8% sequential growth, above seasonal norms. The elevated outlook reflects management’s visibility into customer demand and inventory levels across its markets.
