White House executive assistant Natalie Harp left adoring handwritten notes for President Trump in private spaces throughout the White House, according to a new book by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. One note read: “You are all that matters to me.”
The revelation appears in “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump,” which was released this week based on interviews with hundreds of sources. The book details how Harp, a 34-year-old former television presenter, has maintained an intensely devoted relationship with Trump for years, including after he lost the 2020 election and moved to Florida.
Harp’s role has evolved significantly since joining Trump’s orbit. She now serves as his executive assistant to the president, a position Trump appointed her to in January 2025. On the golf course, she provided him with “positive news stories and social media comments,” according to Haberman and Swan’s account. Her practice of printing out flattering articles and social media posts has earned her the nickname “the human printer.”
Trump’s view of Harp’s loyalty is unambiguous. After returning to office, he told staffers that she “was the only one who loved him as much as his wife and kids,” using the French pronunciation of her name: “Nah-ta-lee.” He added: “All of you will go off and make money. She’ll never leave me.”
The dynamic between Trump and Harp has drawn notice from other White House officials. When Harp gushed with delight over the gold furnishings Trump added to the Oval Office mantel, Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles reportedly thought to herself, “Where am I?” according to the book. Haberman and Swan wrote: “As the year progressed, he kept jamming more gold pieces onto the mantel. When Trump asked White House residence staff what they thought of the glittering display, most responses were muted, but his devout aide Natalie Harp would gush with delight.”
Beyond her personal notes, Harp has also influenced Trump’s public communications. She has helped shape some of his most controversial Truth Social posts, all of which the president approves, according to reporting from The Wall Street Journal. In 2026, at Harp’s urging, Trump posted a video depicting the Obamas as apes and an image casting him as a Christ-like figure. Both posts were later deleted following bipartisan condemnation.
