Frozen meatloaf recall announced for undeclared soy in 3 states

Power Plate Meals, a West Fargo, North Dakota company, has recalled approximately 5,795 pounds of frozen meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes due to an undeclared soy allergen, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on June 18. The affected frozen food recall involves products shipped to distributors in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

The product contains soy, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. The frozen meatloaf items were produced between June 25, 2025, and June 10, 2026, and are sold in 13.3-ounce vacuum-sealed plastic tray packages bearing establishment number “217SEND” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

A state inspector discovered the problem when notifying FSIS that the final label failed to list soy in the ingredients list. The FSIS has classified this as a Low – Class II recall for unreported allergens. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should discard them or return them to the place of purchase. The USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline can be reached at 888-674-6854 for questions about the recall.

Undeclared allergens remain a significant food safety concern. In 2025, there were over 400 FDA food recalls, with undeclared allergens cited as a leading cause of recalls, according to reports from the food safety community. Such recalls are issued when manufacturers fail to properly label ingredients that pose a risk to consumers with allergies or sensitivities.
