Erie Insurance ranked 308th on the 2026 Fortune 500 list of America’s largest corporations, based on total revenue for the 2025 fiscal year, advancing 15 positions from its 323rd-place ranking the prior year.
The company moved up in a year when the revenue threshold for making the Fortune 500 reached $7.5 billion, up 5% from the previous year’s cutoff, according to the official announcement. Together, Fortune 500 companies account for approximately two-thirds of U.S. gross domestic product.

This year’s ranking marks 23 years since Erie Insurance first appeared on the Fortune 500 list. The company debuted at No. 454 in 2003, showing steady growth over two decades. The company operates in 12 states and the District of Columbia and employs more than 7,000 people, with nearly 7 million active policies in force.
The 2026 Fortune 500 marks the 72nd year of the list, which ranks companies based on total revenues for their respective fiscal years. To qualify, companies must be incorporated in the U.S., operate in the U.S., and file financial statements with a government agency.
