Erie Insurance climbed to 308th on the 2026 Fortune 500 list, advancing 15 positions from its ranking of 323 last year, according to the company’s official announcement. The ranking reflects the property and casualty insurer’s total revenue for the 2025 fiscal year and marks its 23rd consecutive appearance on Fortune’s annual roster of America’s largest corporations.
“Our place on the Fortune 500 reflects the trust our customers place in ERIE and the dedication our employees and agents bring to serving them every day,” said Tim NeCastro, president and chief executive officer, in a statement released by the company.
The annual Fortune 500 list ranks companies based on total revenues for their respective fiscal years and includes only those incorporated in the U.S., operating domestically, and filing financial statements with a government agency. The revenue threshold for making this year’s list was $7.5 billion, up 5% from the prior year, according to Fortune’s methodology.
Erie Insurance’s steady climb up the rankings reflects a broader trajectory of growth. The company first debuted on the Fortune 500 in 2003 at No. 454, meaning it has advanced 146 positions over the past two decades. That progression underscores how the Erie, Pennsylvania-based mutual insurer has expanded its customer base and operations across its regional footprint.
The 2026 Fortune 500 marks the 72nd year of the list, which collectively represents companies accounting for approximately two-thirds of U.S. gross domestic product. Being named to the list places Erie among an elite group of the nation’s largest and most influential enterprises, a distinction that reflects the scale of its operations and market presence in the property and casualty insurance sector.
