Kid Rock’s Rock the Country loses acts and scraps Anderson stop, reports say

Kid Rock’s Rock the Country festival has scrapped its July 25–26 Anderson, South Carolina stop after organizers removed the date from the tour and local officials confirmed the cancellation.

The Anderson County administrator, Rusty Burns, said officials were “disappointed that Rock the Country will not return to Anderson this year,” a confirmation that followed social-media reports and emails to ticketholders, according to WSAV. The county previously hosted the festival for two years and described the event as a major local draw.

The cancellation came after multiple performers dropped off the Rock the Country lineup. WSAV reported that Shinedown announced it was pulling out, while country acts Morgan Wade and Carter Faith had already left the bill and Ludacris was removed from promotional material; organizers attributed the Anderson cancellation to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Parade’s write-up, republished by Yahoo Entertainment, said the festival website reduced the schedule from “8 massive shows” to seven and listed other lineup changes, noting that headliners initially slated for Anderson included Creed and Shinedown alongside Brantley Gilbert and Ludacris.

Organizers had not issued a public statement explaining the removals at the time local officials confirmed the Anderson stop was off the calendar. WSAV quoted organizers pointing to “unforeseen circumstances” for the cancellation while Anderson leaders said they are planning additional events to replace the two-day festival.

Kid Rock’s Rock the Country tour still lists other dates and headliners such as Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert on broader lineups carried by news outlets, but the Anderson removal reduces the tour’s stops and highlights the effect lineup shake-ups can have on mid-size, multi-stop festivals.

Local officials and reporters tracked the change after fans posted notices they had received refund emails and saw the Anderson dates disappear from the event site. WSAV noted the county’s comment that Rock the Country had previously generated a “multi-million-dollar economic impact” and drew tens of thousands of visitors in prior years.

What happens next for Rock the Country’s Anderson ticket-holders was not detailed in the reports; county officials said they were working on alternative events and the festival site no longer lists the South Carolina date.
