The orange plague statue by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt — titled “The Orange Plague” — is on display inside the European Parliament building in Strasbourg, the installation confirmed by multiple outlets.
The 2.6‑metre satirical sculpture depicts a naked Donald Trump sitting on the shoulders of a frail man and is coated in 23‑carat gold leaf, the artist and press accounts say.

The work was unveiled on 7 October as the centrepiece of a three‑day exhibition hosted by Danish MEP Per Clausen, and the artist distributed 3D‑printed miniature versions to visitors and staff, the artist said.
A spokesperson quoted in reporting said the exhibition had been approved by the parliament’s quaestors, the cross‑party group that handles administrative decisions and spaces for MEPs.

Galschiøt has said the piece was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and described it as a satirical outcry against policies he links to climate harm, according to the artist’s statement reproduced by outlets.
The statue has previously been shown at demonstrations in Copenhagen and at the COP30 UN climate summit in Belém, Brazil, and the artist plans further exhibitions at COP31, the reporting adds.
