Joe Rogan has topped Forbes’ 2026 highest-paid podcasters list, earning an estimated $82 million from his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” between June 2025 and June 2026, according to the publication’s annual ranking released in late July.
The earnings figure represents platform fees and revenue sharing across all distribution channels, calculated on a pretax basis and excluding live shows. Rogan’s $82 million haul places him $12 million ahead of the second-place podcasters, John Coogan and Jordi Hays of TBPN (Technology Business Programming Network), who earned $70 million during the same period.
The podcast industry has undergone significant shifts in recent years, with major platforms competing aggressively for exclusive content. In February 2024, Rogan signed a new multiyear deal with Spotify reportedly worth up to $250 million, a renewal that marked a major change from his previous exclusive arrangement with the platform.
Under the 2024 deal, Rogan’s show can now be distributed on multiple platforms including Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and Amazon Music, expanding his reach beyond Spotify’s walled garden. This shift toward non-exclusive distribution has proven lucrative: “The Joe Rogan Experience” now boasts an average of 11 million listeners and viewers per episode, according to Forbes data cited by Moneywise.
The second-place earners, Coogan and Hays, trail Rogan significantly, followed by Steven Bartlett of “The Diary of a CEO” ($45 million), Ashley Flowers of “Crime Junkie” ($42 million), and the team behind “SmartLess”—Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes—($37 million). Forbes’ methodology estimates total business earnings from podcasting, including all revenue streams from both exclusive and non-exclusive deals.
Rogan’s dominance in podcast earnings reflects the broader trend of audio content becoming a major revenue driver in the media industry. His show, which he created in 2009, has featured high-profile guests including Neil deGrasse Tyson, Edward Snowden, and Bernie Sanders, building a loyal listener base that has translated into substantial commercial value.
