Newly released FBI emails show that Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, contacted FBI Director Kash Patel in March 2025 to connect him with a British socialite, according to documents released through Bloomberg’s Freedom of Information Act request and published in the bureau’s online vault this month.
Ferguson reached out to a senior diplomat at the U.S. embassy in London and asked them to relay contact information for Victoria Hervey, a 49-year-old British socialite who previously dated Prince Andrew. The diplomat then emailed Patel on March 6, 2025—just two weeks after he was sworn in as FBI director on February 21—informing him that Ferguson wanted to provide Hervey’s contact details.
In his response that same afternoon, Patel wrote, “Thanks for the relay. Remind me who Victoria Harvey is?” The FBI’s legal attaché then explained that Patel had met with both Hervey and Antonia Marshall, Ferguson’s longtime assistant, at Trump International Golf Course and had asked for their contact information. Patel thanked the attaché for the details, and no further emails on the matter followed.
The emails regarding Ferguson made no mention of Epstein. However, the FBI published them in a cache of documents titled “Records regarding the review of the investigative holdings related to Jeffrey Epstein.” An FBI spokesperson told Bloomberg that Patel “does not know who this Victoria Hervey person is, as you can see from the emails referenced,” and added that he “has taken photos with thousands of people.”
Ferguson’s appearance in the Epstein files is significant given her documented history with the disgraced financier. After Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting prostitution from a minor, Ferguson remained in contact with him, asking for financial advice and help paying off her debts. A 2011 email from Ferguson to Epstein surfaced in earlier releases, in which she apologized to him, writing, “I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read, and I must humbly apologize to you and your heart for that.”
The release of these emails comes as part of the FBI’s ongoing publication of documents related to its review of the Epstein investigative holdings. Over recent months, the bureau has quietly posted materials to its Freedom of Information Act reading room, known as The Vault, shedding light on internal deliberations at the highest levels of government about how to review, redact, and release the Epstein files. The contact between Ferguson and Patel occurred seven months before new Epstein documents revealed that Ferguson and Prince Andrew had maintained contact with Epstein longer than they had previously claimed, leading to Andrew’s removal from the Royal Family.
