The Queen Elizabeth exhibition at Buckingham Palace has been extended to April 18, 2027, after selling out within weeks of its April 10 opening. Originally scheduled to close on October 18, 2026, the six-month extension reflects what organizers describe as “unprecedented” demand for the show.
Titled “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style,” the exhibition features more than 300 items from the late monarch’s personal fashion archive—many displayed for the first time. The display traces her distinctive style across all ten decades of her life, from her christening robe through her wedding dress, coronation gown, and ensembles worn for state occasions and private moments.
The exhibition is organized by the Royal Collection Trust at The King’s Gallery in London. Tim Knox, director of the Royal Collection, said the response had been “unprecedented,” adding that the extension would allow more visitors from the UK and overseas to experience “this once-in-a-generation tribute to Queen Elizabeth II’s life and legacy.”
The show has become the most visited exhibition in the Royal Collection Trust’s history. Early reports indicated that around 200,000 visitors would see the exhibition before the original October close date, with tickets selling out until December 2026. Visitors are being advised to book well in advance due to continued high demand.
The exhibition is part of a wider centenary programme marking what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday on April 21, 1926.
