Kai Trump has moved on from her previous celebrity crush: the 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump revealed to Fox News Digital that British actor Theo James has replaced “Outer Banks” star Drew Starkey in the top spot.
In an interview earlier this week, Kai explained that her taste in celebrity crushes has evolved since she publicly named Starkey as her crush in December 2024 during a YouTube Q&A.
“I think Theo James now, yeah, Theo James, I would say, so it’s changed,” Kai told Fox News Digital. “I mean, like, I still like him [Starkey], but it’s just changed a little.”
When asked why the 41-year-old actor has taken the top spot, Kai was direct: “He’s very attractive.” James, born December 16, 1984, is a British actor and film producer best known for playing Tobias “Four” Eaton in The Divergent Series film trilogy from 2014 to 2016, according to Wikipedia.
Beyond his Divergent fame, James has built a diverse career in recent years. He earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for his role in HBO’s “The White Lotus” and currently stars as the lead in Netflix’s “The Gentlemen,” which was renewed for a second season premiering in 2026.
Kai’s shift in celebrity crushes marks a change from her viral moment in December 2024, when she blushed while answering fan questions on her YouTube channel. At that time, the then-17-year-old gushed about Starkey, saying “All right, my celebrity crush — Drew Starkey from ‘Outer Banks.’ I love him, so yeah, that’s my celebrity crush.” Her enthusiastic response and visible embarrassment quickly went viral across social media.
During her recent Fox News Digital interview, Kai also discussed how her grandfather’s position as president has affected her dating life. “It’s not easy, to be honest with you, but you know, you gotta live life,” she said. “You gotta just keep on doing normal stuff, you know? At the end of the day, I was in high school, lived a normal high school life, and now I’m going to college, so just kinda live as normal of a life as possible.”
The 19-year-old, who graduated from The Benjamin School on May 15, 2026, has verbally committed to play collegiate golf as a member of the Miami Hurricanes women’s team, according to Wikipedia. She has also built a YouTube channel with 1.5 million subscribers, offering behind-the-scenes glimpses into her life as a competitive golfer, college student, and member of the Trump family.
