Jon Ossoff holds a 13-point lead over Republican challenger Mike Collins in Georgia’s 2026 Senate race, according to a new Fox News poll released Wednesday. The survey shows the Democratic incumbent leading 56% to 43% among registered voters, signaling a notably different dynamic from his narrow 2021 victory.
The poll, conducted June 23-27 and released July 1, surveyed 1,002 Georgia registered voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Ossoff’s advantage comes from strong party loyalty and commanding leads on voter priorities, particularly inflation—the issue dominating Georgia voters’ concerns at 40%.
Ossoff enjoys overwhelming support from Black voters at 87%, independents at 68%, those under age 30 at 68%, moderates at 66%, and women under 45 at 66%. Nearly all Democrats back him at 96%, and notably, 24% of non-MAGA Republicans say they plan to cross party lines to support the incumbent. Among Ossoff’s supporters, more than 8 in 10 say their vote is actively for him rather than against Collins.
Collins’ base looks different. His strongest support comes from White evangelical Christians at 79%, White men without college degrees at 65%, and rural voters at 55%. About half of gun-owner households and veterans also favor him. However, among Collins supporters, only 56% say their vote is for him—44% admit it is primarily a vote against Ossoff.
Ossoff narrowly won his 2021 Senate runoff against Republican David Perdue by just over a percentage point, making his current double-digit lead a significant shift in the race’s trajectory. Collins, a U.S. Representative, won the June 16 Republican primary runoff with a last-minute endorsement from President Trump, defeating Derek Dooley, who had the backing of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.
The poll reveals deep divisions on personal favorability. Ossoff holds a 58% favorable rating, compared to 44% for Collins and 42% for Trump. Additionally, 53% of voters express concern that Collins is too close to Trump, while 47% worry Ossoff is too liberal. Ossoff leads by 21 points among voters most concerned about inflation and by 40 points among those focused on healthcare, while Collins holds a 45-point lead among immigration-focused voters.
The survey also measured the gubernatorial race, where Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms leads Republican Rick Jackson 52% to 47%—a margin within the poll’s error. Some ticket-splitting appears: 11% of Ossoff supporters plan to vote for Jackson, while 5% of Collins voters back Lance Bottoms.
