Kosovo: Prishtina-Skopje railway line back into operation
Prishtinė, Mar 1, 2006 - After many delays, the railway line between Macedonia and Kosovo, which was interrupted in 1999, resumed operation.
The first train departed on Tuesday morning from Fushė-Kosovo and arrived in Skopje at 9.00. According to the schedule, this line will be operational every day on regular basis, and the check point will be carried out at the Bllaca crossing point.
The Macedonian Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Xhemali Mehazi said that the difficulties that occurred were eliminated on time, and now train will travel to Kosovo without any problem, Mehazi said.
The European Union Ambassador to Macedonia Evran Fuere has greeted the reactivation of this line. He said that he will travel to Kosovo soon by train soon.
